In response, County Attorney Matt Enrooth has provided six recommendations for Butte-Silver Bow to consider regarding its contract with Municipal Parking Services, the operator of the SafetySticks. These recommendations include limiting data use strictly to parking enforcement, prohibiting data sharing with third parties without explicit consent or a court order, and requiring human review of any AI-generated data from the devices. Municipal Parking Services Vice President of Sales Robert Matthews stated that their SafetySticks do not use Flock cameras and that data is not shared without written consent or a court order.
