A vigilante official in Abuja accidentally shot himself while handling his rifle at a construction site in the Karsana district. The incident occurred after the vigilante, Rabiu Usman, and his colleagues
chased away robbers attempting to steal iron rods. Usman forgot to disengage the safety on his rifle, which led to the weapon discharging and injuring his leg. He was initially treated at Kubwa General Hospital and later referred to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital for further examination and treatment. The local police have not yet been informed of the incident.
