Mosquito Control, aims to reduce the number of tiger mosquitoes, which are vectors for diseases like dengue. The project involves releasing 1,500 mosquitoes weekly to 25 customers over 16 weeks. The Wolbachia bacterium sterilizes female mosquitoes when they mate with infected males, preventing eggs from hatching. This method has been used successfully in Singapore, significantly reducing mosquito populations and disease risk. The initiative comes as the U.S. faces a surge in West Nile virus cases, with the highest number reported in 22 years.
