Robert Eugene 'Bob' Irving, a long-time resident of rural Loda, Illinois, passed away at the age of 87 on June 14, 2026, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton on Pells. Born on December 23, 1938, in Loda, Bob was known for his deep roots in the community and
his passion for farming. After graduating from Roberts-Thawville High School in 1957, where he was active in basketball and the Future Farmers of America (FFA), Bob worked as a mechanic before taking over the family farm. He was also employed by Hicks Gas in Roberts. Bob was a tractor enthusiast and a member of the Loda Truck & Tractor Pull Association. He regularly attended farm progress shows and the Illinois State Fair. Bob is survived by his son Randall, ex-wife Janet, and several relatives. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, with arrangements handled by Baier Family Funeral Services.
