What's Happening?
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, a part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, has announced plans to open the Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas in Paradise Valley, Arizona, in early 2026. This new development will be the first
IHG-branded luxury and lifestyle property in the Paradise Valley/Scottsdale area. The resort will be situated on a reimagined 42-acre site near the Camelback and Mummy Mountains, close to Old Town Scottsdale. It will feature over 400 guest rooms, suites, and villas, along with 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event and meeting spaces. Amenities will include two tennis courts, a fitness center, hiking trail access, six swimming pools, a salon, and a day spa. The resort will also offer four food and beverage options in collaboration with lifestyle hospitality group sbe. Partners Group and Trinity Investments will jointly own the property, with Highgate managing it.
Why It's Important?
The opening of the Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas represents a significant expansion of IHG's luxury and lifestyle offerings in the U.S., particularly in the Arizona market. This development is expected to boost local tourism and provide a new high-end destination for visitors to the Paradise Valley and Scottsdale areas. The resort's extensive amenities and event spaces are likely to attract both leisure and business travelers, potentially increasing economic activity in the region. Additionally, the project highlights Kimpton's ongoing global expansion, with nearly 150 properties either open or in development worldwide. This move could enhance IHG's competitive position in the luxury hospitality sector, offering more diverse options for travelers seeking upscale accommodations.
What's Next?
As the project progresses towards its 2026 opening, stakeholders such as Partners Group, Trinity Investments, and Highgate will focus on the development and marketing strategies to ensure the resort's successful launch. The collaboration with sbe for food and beverage offerings suggests a focus on creating a unique culinary experience, which could be a key selling point for attracting guests. The resort's opening will likely be closely watched by industry analysts and competitors, as it may set new standards for luxury accommodations in the region. Additionally, the impact on local employment and business opportunities will be an area of interest for community leaders and economic development officials.
