What's Happening?
The Welsh Government has commenced the process to replace the aging A494 River Dee Bridge in Flintshire, a project valued at £145 million. This initiative is part of the Major Asset Renewal Programme aimed at improving cross-border traffic between north Wales and north-west England. The proposed plan includes constructing a new bridge southeast of the current structure, featuring two lanes in each direction and a shared-use path for pedestrians and cyclists.
