a government subcontractor, specializes in manufacturing military shell casings. Approximately 30 employees who were present at the time were safely evacuated from the building. Fire departments from Hanover Township and several neighboring communities, including Ashley, Avoca, Edwardsville, Kingston/Forty Fort, Moosic, Nanticoke, and Newport Township, responded to the scene. The Luzerne County Emergency Management Agency also provided assistance. As a result of the emergency, Hanover Street was closed for approximately three hours.
