William Joseph Ross, a resident of Scipio, passed away at the age of 87 on July 28, 2026. Born in Indianapolis, Ross served as a paratrooper in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. He later worked for Cummins Engine Company for 30 years before retiring
in 1993. Ross was a lifetime member of several organizations, including the NRA and the Cloud Busters Skydiving Club, which he founded. He is survived by his three sons, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In accordance with his wishes, cremation is planned, and private family services will be held at a later date.
