The University of North Alabama (UNA) is set to hold its summer commencement ceremonies on July 31, with events scheduled at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in Norton Auditorium. Dr. Melissa DeFoor, an Associate Professor of Nursing and recipient of the 2026 Phi
Kappa Phi Eleanor Gaunder Excellence in Teaching Award, will deliver the keynote address. Dr. DeFoor has a background in maternal-child nursing and has been a faculty member for eight years. Approximately 300 students from UNA's four academic colleges are expected to participate in the ceremonies.
