What's Happening?
The US State Department has approved a foreign military sale to Ukraine, valued at $105 million, for the sustainment and related equipment of the Patriot air defense system. This includes upgrades to the M901
launchers, transitioning them to the M903 configuration, and providing both classified and unclassified prescribed load lists and authorized stockage lists for ground support equipment. The deal also encompasses necessary services, training, ancillary items, spare parts, and logistics support. RTX and Lockheed Martin have been identified as the main contractors for this sale. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency has notified the US Congress about the deal, which aims to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities against current and future threats.
