A 51-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy were rescued after drifting out to sea while paddleboarding off the coast of Melbourne. The pair, who are from the same family, set off from Portarlington caravan park on Christmas Day but were reported missing
two hours later. A large-scale search operation was launched, involving police, aircraft, and coast guards. They were eventually spotted near Wyndham Harbour, over six miles from their starting point, and rescued by water police. Both were found exhausted but uninjured.
