What's Happening?
As the spring semester ends at the University of Oklahoma, KGOU is recognizing the contributions of its student participants. Three students from the Gaylord College completed the KGOU Practicum class, gaining hands-on experience in digital media production,
news reporting, and community calendar announcements. Additionally, three part-time student employees contributed to news and audio production. These students will continue their roles, with one joining as part of the Inasmuch Foundation Community Fellowship. The program highlights the practical skills students acquire while contributing to the station's operations.
Why It's Important?
The involvement of students in KGOU's operations provides them with valuable real-world experience, enhancing their educational journey and preparing them for future careers in media and journalism. This collaboration between the university and the radio station fosters a learning environment where students can apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings. The program not only benefits the students but also enriches the station's content with fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. Such initiatives are crucial in developing the next generation of media professionals and supporting the local community's access to quality journalism.
