What's Happening?
Apex Industries has partnered with MARL International to produce marine lighting systems for the Royal Canadian Navy's new River Class destroyers. The contract, awarded by Irving Shipbuilding, involves manufacturing energy-efficient LED lights for three vessels, with options for three more. MARL International, part of Glamox, will transfer licensing rights to Apex for production in Moncton, New Brunswick. The destroyers, named HMCS Fraser, HMCS Saint-Laurent, and HMCS Mackenzie, are based on the Global Combat Ship design and will replace older Navy vessels.
