A construction company, Bow Tie Construction, has been fined £24,000 following an incident where a worker suffered serious injuries from a fall during renovation works in London. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) reported that the worker fell 1.65
meters while standing on a ladder to erect a temporary timber framework for a concrete staircase. The worker sustained multiple injuries, including crush injuries to both elbows, a fractured forearm, dislocated wrists, and leg injuries. The company pleaded guilty to breaching the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Why It's Important?
This case underscores the critical importance of adhering to safety regulations in the construction industry. The incident highlights the potential for severe injuries when safety protocols are not followed, emphasizing the need for employers to ensure proper safety measures and supervision.
