What's Happening?
The Borough of Chambersburg Water Utility is set to commence a hydrant flushing program across its water distribution system starting the week of July 27. This routine maintenance process, scheduled between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m., may result in temporary water discoloration
for residents near the flushing sites. The utility advises residents to avoid using tap water for drinking or laundry during the flushing and to run their taps for several minutes afterward to clear any discoloration. The utility assures that the discoloration poses no health risk. Drivers are also cautioned to be careful in areas where hydrant flushing is actively taking place.
