What's Happening?
In Kenya, women are making strides in the construction industry through the Buildher program, a Nairobi-based nonprofit initiative. Despite women comprising only 3% of the country's accredited construction artisans, Buildher offers year-long training
and internships in trades like carpentry, tiling, and painting. The program aims to provide women with skills and confidence to secure better-paying jobs in the construction sector. Since its inception in 2019, Buildher has trained over 1,000 women, significantly increasing their earnings and participation in the industry.
