Sister Ellen Marie Ryan, RSM, Passes Away After 70 Years of Service

Sister Ellen Marie Ryan, a dedicated member of the Sisters of Mercy for 70 years, has passed away. She was a beloved figure within her community, known for her devotion and service. Sister Ellen Marie was the daughter of the late Ella Reidy and Joseph Ryan, and sister to the late Maryellen Shanta-Williams, John Ryan, and Margaret Ryan Paquette. She was also a proud aunt and great aunt to many. A prayer service and visitation are scheduled for Wednesday, October 1st, at Mercy Hall in Chicago, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Mercy Chapel. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Sisters of Mercy or Mother McAuley High School.
