JoAnn Carolyn Chesser, aged 89, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, at Diamond Willow in Proctor, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Known for her kindness and commitment to community service, JoAnn was actively involved in St. Paul’s Episcopal
Church and various local organizations, including CHUM and Meals on Wheels. She was instrumental in starting the Rhubarb Festival and was a beloved figure in the Whole Foods Co-op community. JoAnn retired as a social worker from St. Louis County, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and service. Her memorial service is scheduled for January 30, 2026, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Duluth, Minnesota.
