The Brain-Chip R1 integrates FUJIFILM's iCell products with Emulate's proprietary Brain Microvascular Endothelial Cells, offering a human-relevant model for central nervous system (CNS) diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. The platform aims to overcome the limitations of traditional animal models and static cell cultures, which often fail to replicate the complexity of the human blood-brain barrier, leading to poor clinical translation of CNS therapies.
