NASA astronaut Chris Williams, along with two Russian cosmonauts, has returned to Earth after an eight-month mission in space. The crew landed safely aboard a Soyuz capsule in Kazakhstan, having spent 241 days in space. During this time, they completed
over 3,800 orbits around the Earth and traveled more than 100 million miles. Williams, who considers Potomac his hometown, was involved in various scientific research projects during his mission, including studies on cancer treatments, semiconductor manufacturing, and spacecraft water systems. He also participated in two spacewalks, contributing to the maintenance of the station's robotic arm and solar power system. Williams, an Eagle Scout and former volunteer firefighter, was selected as an astronaut by NASA in 2021.
