What's Happening?
Three Murcian companies, Eneas Servicios Integrales, Construcciones Urdecon, and Trazado de Carreteras y Obras Hidráulicas, have been awarded contracts totaling approximately 5.2 million euros by the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura (CHS). These
contracts are part of the Flood Risk Management Plan (PGRI) and aim to reduce the risk of flooding in the Segura River basin, which spans the Region of Murcia, Alicante, Almería, and Albacete. The work, which has a one-year execution period and is extendable, includes various preventive measures. These measures involve clearing drains, removing obstacles and plant debris, stabilizing and repairing eroded riverbanks, and implementing corrective actions during high water events. Additionally, the restoration of riparian vegetation and the improvement of the hydraulic regime of the river channels are planned. The CHS initiated the bidding process in April with a budget of around 6.9 million euros and received up to 60 offers across five lots. Eneas Servicios Integrales secured two lots, Construcciones Urdecon also won two, and Trazado de Carreteras y Obras Hidráulicas was awarded one lot, which includes technical assistance and health and safety coordination.
