What's Happening?
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced a new management agreement with Makson India Hospitality Pvt Ltd to open the InterContinental Jaipur Achrol Resort. Scheduled for early 2030, this 225-key luxury resort will be located on a 16-acre site along the Delhi–Jaipur
Road in Achrol. The resort will feature 36 villas and 189 guest rooms, making it the fourth IHG-branded hotel within Jaipur city limits and the second InterContinental hotel in the market. The resort will offer four dining options, including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a lobby lounge, and a pool bar. Additionally, it will provide event facilities, including a ballroom, a club lounge, a spa, a fitness center, a swimming pool, retail outlets, and parking.
Why It's Important?
The development of the InterContinental Jaipur Achrol Resort signifies IHG's continued expansion in India, a market with significant growth potential in the hospitality sector. Jaipur, known for its cultural heritage and as a part of India's Golden Triangle tourist circuit, is a prime location for luxury tourism and events. This expansion aligns with the increasing demand for high-end accommodations in the region, driven by both domestic and international tourists. The resort's opening is expected to boost local employment and contribute to the region's economy by attracting more visitors and hosting large-scale events.
What's Next?
As the resort is set to open in early 2030, the focus will be on the construction and development phases over the next few years. IHG will likely continue to expand its presence in India, with a pipeline of 98 hotels in development across the country. The opening of the InterContinental Jaipur Achrol Resort will be closely watched by industry stakeholders as a benchmark for luxury hospitality in the region. Additionally, the resort's success could influence further investments in the Indian hospitality market by other international hotel chains.
