What's Happening?
MBDA has announced the commencement of low-rate production for its Spear mini-cruise missile, known as Selective Precision Effects At Range (SPEAR 3), at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026. The
missile, designed for use against mobile or static targets, features GPS/inertial mid-course navigation and a dual-mode seeker for terminal homing. It is primarily intended for internal carriage by the UK's F-35B Lightning II and for export.
