Two members of the Order of Discalced Carmelites, identified as Sister Helen and Sister Ansa, survived an ambush by armed bandits on the Juba-Torit highway in South Sudan on August 30. The incident occurred near Jebel Gutun in the Lirya area as they were

This ambush occurred five years after two sisters of the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus were killed by armed men on the same route, highlighting ongoing security concerns in the area.
