Metso has been awarded a significant contract to replace ageing railcar dumper cells for a customer in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. This project continues a partnership that began in 2002, with Metso providing advanced railcar handling solutions. The scope includes design, supply, and technical support for installation and commissioning of the replacement units, valued at approximately €16 million ($19 million). The new dumper design emphasizes maintainability, reduced downtime, dust and spillage control, and robust structural integrity, ensuring optimal performance in demanding mining environments.
