What's Happening?
FLS has expanded its Mongolia Service Centre in Ulaanbaatar, marking a significant step in its global strategy to enhance mining service operations. The expansion includes enlarging indoor and outdoor
warehouse areas, increasing equipment capacity, and expanding the workforce to improve operational efficiency. New service types have been introduced, and staff skills have been enhanced with international standards such as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018. The centre, which began operations in 2014, now employs over 30 staff and provides more than 100 products and services to Mongolia's mining industry.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of FLS's service centre in Mongolia reflects the growing importance of the region in the global mining landscape. By enhancing its service capabilities, FLS can provide faster and more reliable support to its customers, improving efficiency and service quality. This development is crucial for Mongolia's rapidly growing mining sector, which plays a significant role in the country's economy. The expansion also highlights FLS's commitment to developing local expertise and supporting major mining companies with technical assistance and maintenance services.
What's Next?
FLS plans to continue expanding its service centres globally, with ongoing projects in South Africa, Brazil, Kazakhstan, and new centres opening in Ghana, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia. These expansions aim to strengthen FLS's presence in key mining regions, providing better access to spare parts and services. The company is also focusing on training and certifying local staff to ensure high-quality service delivery. As FLS enhances its global service network, it may further solidify its position as a leading provider of mining services.
