What's Happening?
Terra Metals has announced the discovery of new titanium-sulphide reefs at the Southwest prospect within the Dante Project in Western Australia. These newly identified reefs are significantly thicker than
previous resources, with continuous packages up to 58 meters in thickness. The reefs contain high grades of cobalt, nickel sulphide, and palladium, indicating a new style of mineralization for the area. The discovery was made through assays of the first eight reverse circulation drillholes, with 49 holes completed to date. Terra Metals is conducting further drilling to define the geometry and continuity of these new reefs.
Why It's Important?
The discovery of these titanium-sulphide reefs could have significant implications for the mining industry, particularly in the extraction of valuable minerals like cobalt, nickel, and palladium. These elements are crucial for various industries, including electronics and renewable energy. The findings suggest the potential for expanding the scale and diversity of mineralization within the Dante system, which could lead to increased mining activity and economic benefits for the region. The discovery also highlights the importance of continued exploration and innovation in the mining sector.
What's Next?
Terra Metals plans to continue its drilling campaign to further explore the newly discovered reefs. The company is also implementing downhole electromagnetic programs to better understand the zones with high sulphide content. With more than 40 drillholes still to be reported, Terra Metals aims to systematically follow up on these findings to fully assess the potential of the Southwest prospect. The company will present its findings at the upcoming Noosa Mining Investor Conference, which could attract further interest and investment in the project.
