She was actively involved in her community, serving in various roles at Chowchilla High School and later pursuing higher education, earning degrees from the University of San Francisco and California State University, Fresno. Leona was also known for her passion for gardening and her commitment to education and service. Her family, including her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, will hold a celebration of her life on August 13 at Jay Chapel in Madera.
