David H. Ryan, a beloved educator and community member, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, at the age of 83. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Ryan was deeply connected to his Chicago roots, which fueled his passion for the city's sports teams. He was an alumnus
of Western Illinois University, where he participated in football and swimming, and later earned a Master’s Degree from Northern Illinois University. Ryan dedicated over 30 years to teaching in the Palatine community, impacting countless students and colleagues. After retiring, he relocated to Fort Myers, Florida, where he enjoyed the warm climate and the companionship of his dogs. He is survived by his wife, Helene, his daughter, Stacey, and his brother, John Vincent III, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service is planned for Spring 2026, with a private interment to follow.
