What's Happening?
The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has announced a partnership with FOX Sports to provide live coverage of the 2025 Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. The event will be broadcast on FS1 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Eastern on Sunday. The prestigious race, held at Longchamp Racecourse in Paris, France, features a €5 million (approximately $5.8 million) prize and is part of the Breeders' Cup 'Win and You're In' Challenge Series. This year's race will see Aventure, a 4-year-old filly trained by Christophe Ferland, attempt to improve on last year's second-place finish. The winner of the Arc will earn automatic entry into the G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf on November 1 at Del Mar.
Why It's Important?
The live broadcast of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe by FOX Sports represents a significant opportunity for horse racing enthusiasts in the U.S. to engage with one of the sport's most prestigious international events. The partnership with NYRA highlights the growing interest in global horse racing events among American audiences. Additionally, the race's inclusion in the Breeders' Cup 'Win and You're In' Challenge Series underscores its importance in the international racing calendar, offering a pathway to the Breeders' Cup Turf, a major event in the U.S. horse racing scene. This collaboration could enhance the visibility of horse racing and potentially attract new fans to the sport.
What's Next?
NYRA will also host a special Double wager on October 4, featuring the G1 Champagne at Belmont and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. This wager, with a $2 minimum and 18.5 percent takeout, is part of a series of promotions leading up to the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. NYRA Bets customers can participate in a $20 Deposit and Bet Bonus by opting in and betting on the Champagne-Arc Double. These initiatives aim to increase engagement and betting activity among horse racing fans, potentially boosting the sport's popularity and financial health.
