Turkish police have conducted extensive operations against the Islamic State group across Turkey, detaining 357 suspects. These raids were part of a broader crackdown following reports of planned attacks
targeting Christmas and New Year’s celebrations. The operations took place in 21 provinces, including Istanbul, Ankara, and Yalova. The Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, confirmed the arrests and noted that some suspects were linked to a recent deadly clash in Yalova, where three police officers and six IS militants were killed. The raids also uncovered suspects involved in financing IS-linked networks in Syria under the guise of charity.
