The Schooler Family Foundation, established in 1985 by Seward D. and Edith I. Gardner Schooler, is marking its 40th anniversary of philanthropic efforts in Ohio and beyond. Over the years, the foundation has awarded 444 grants totaling more than $9.6
million. In 2025 alone, the foundation distributed $594,184 in grants to various nonprofit and government agencies. Notable recipients include the Red Cross East Central Ohio Chapter, Grace United Methodist Church, and Kids America, among others. The foundation's initiatives span education, religion, recreation, health and human services, arts and culture, and historic preservation. The foundation's roots are deeply embedded in Ohio, with Seward and Edith Schooler having been lifelong residents of the region.
