What's Happening?
During Frieze week, curators in Seoul previewed the upcoming Korean edition of the Sunpride Foundation's Spectrosynthesis exhibition series, which focuses on LGBTQ+ Asian art. The off-site exhibition, titled 'Eleven Episodes', is split between Kukje Gallery K2 and (Together)(Together) and features performances by artists such as Yagwang, Younghae Chang, Ru Kim, and Jimin Hah. The exhibition aims to incorporate gender sensitivity alongside queer narratives, reflecting contemporary Korean society's experiences with gender, power, and identity. Curators Sunjung Kim and Jina Kim have selected 11 emerging female and genderqueer artists to participate, addressing gender-based differences and socially constructed roles.
