What's Happening?
In South Park, Pittsburgh, The Jurassic Alcove, founded by Domanic Bianco, offers a unique, hands-on dinosaur experience. The Alcove features six full-sized dinosaur models and numerous other exhibits, including actual dinosaur footprints in plaster casts.
This initiative is a culmination of Bianco's lifelong passion for dinosaurs and his desire to share this interest with the public. The Alcove, which operates as a nonprofit, provides guided tours where visitors can learn about dinosaurs from Bianco, who also publishes a magazine called Jurassic Mag. The venue includes a fossil dig pit, a paleontological tent with a projector, dinosaur video games, and sensory craft tables. Bianco's efforts have been supported by Allegheny County parks, allowing him to create a space that brings people together to explore prehistoric life.
Why It's Important?
