Fourteen students and recent graduates from the University of Vermont (UVM) have been awarded Fulbright scholarships, marking a new record for the institution. This surpasses the previous record of nine awardees in 2020. The Fulbright Program, established
in 1946, is a prestigious U.S. scholarship that supports yearlong teaching assistantships or research projects in over 125 countries. This year, eleven UVM recipients will teach English in seven different countries, while three will conduct research or pursue graduate studies in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Notable projects include research on rain-on-snow flooding events in New Zealand and studies on invasive insect pests in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
