What's Happening?
Myanmar's Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, U Min Naung, led a delegation to the 47th ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry (AMAF) Meeting held in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines, from October 1 to 3. The meeting included agriculture and forestry ministers from ASEAN member states, Timor-Leste, and dialogue partners such as China, Japan, and South Korea. During Myanmar's chairmanship, 16 processes related to ASEAN food security and agricultural policies were adopted. The ASEAN Food, Agriculture and Forestry Strategic Plan of Action (2026-2030) was discussed and is set for approval. The meeting also endorsed 23 projects related to food, agriculture, and forestry for 2024-2025.
