What's Happening?
Cove Kaz Capital Group is initiating site preparation at the Severniy Katpar tungsten deposits in Kazakhstan. This marks the beginning of final drilling activities for a definitive feasibility study. The site work includes land surveying, road establishment,
and drill pad preparation, with core drilling scheduled for August. The project involves significant use of heavy industrial equipment and increased road activity. This development is part of a partnership with Tau-Ken Samruk National Mining Company, aiming to advance the tungsten project to its final phase before production.
Why It's Important?
The Severniy Katpar project is significant as it contains the largest known undeveloped tungsten resource globally. The anticipated annual production could account for about 15% of current global tungsten mine production, potentially impacting global supply and pricing. This project underscores Kazakhstan's role in the global mining industry and its potential to become a major player in tungsten production. The development also highlights the strategic partnership between Cove Kaz Capital and Tau-Ken Samruk, which could lead to further investments and collaborations in the region.
