What's Happening?
Anguilla has reported its highest annual visitor arrivals in 33 years, with a total of 229,734 visitors in 2025. This marks a 38.1% increase from 2019, the pre-pandemic benchmark year. The growth was driven by a significant rise in both tourist and excursionist
arrivals, with the latter accounting for approximately 69% of the total net growth. The United States remained the leading source market, contributing to 70% of tourist arrivals and 61% of excursionist arrivals. The peak growth was observed during the winter season and the fourth quarter, with December being the top-performing month.
Why It's Important?
The record-breaking visitor numbers highlight Anguilla's resilience and appeal as a premier tourist destination. The increase in arrivals, particularly from the U.S., underscores the island's strong regional access and demand for day trips. This growth is crucial for Anguilla's economy, as tourism is a major economic driver. The success also reflects the effective collaboration between tourism stakeholders and the government, which has been pivotal in enhancing the island's attractiveness and infrastructure.
What's Next?
Building on this momentum, the Anguilla Tourist Board plans to focus on brand awareness and targeted niche marketing to reinforce the island's premium positioning. The board aims to advance experience-led growth in partnership with the private sector and pursue sustainable tourism developments. These efforts are intended to ensure balanced growth that benefits local communities while maintaining the island's appeal as a top travel destination.
