UK Networks Services has issued a request for proposal (RFP) for battery energy storage systems (BESS) to support electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs. The RFP, announced by managing director Simon Gallagher, seeks to deliver 22 BESS units in 2026 as part
of a larger program involving around 160 sites. The initial configurations will include systems ranging from 50kW to 1,000kW, aimed at addressing grid constraints and enabling high-power EV charging.
