Elbit Systems, a defense firm, has announced new contracts worth $100 million with the Israeli Defense Ministry to develop advanced digitization capabilities for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The contracts focus on the development of a fifth-generation
digitization array through the Digital Ground Army (Tzayad) and Multi-Sensor Border Defense System (MARS) programs. These systems aim to enhance command and control capabilities across multiple domains, including air, sea, and land. A key feature of the Tzayad system is the use of advanced artificial intelligence tools to support operational and tactical decision-making. The MARS program will integrate AI-based capabilities, rapid sensor integration, and multi-mission management. Despite the integration of AI, decision-making will remain the responsibility of human commanders.
