Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met with Afghanistan's Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Minister Mawlawi Ataullah Omari to discuss strengthening cooperation in agriculture, irrigation,
livestock, research, education, capacity building, and agri-trade. The meeting, attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), focused on reviewing existing partnerships and exploring new avenues for collaboration. Key areas of discussion included food security, seed development, water management, and climate-resilient agriculture. India expressed readiness to share scientific expertise and technological innovations to support Afghanistan's agricultural productivity and food security.
