What's Happening?
PowerBank Corporation has been awarded a contract by the New York Power Authority (NYPA) to develop and construct a 1.628 MW DC ground-mount solar project at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oneonta. This project, which will be the first MW-scale
on-site solar array at SUNY Oneonta, is a result of a competitive solicitation process. PowerBank's wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary, Abundant Solar Power Inc., will own and operate the project once completed. The initiative supports SUNY Oneonta's Clean Energy Master Plan, aiming to reduce campus carbon emissions and lower peak electrical demand. The estimated construction value of the project is $3.58 million USD and it is expected to qualify for approximately $1.4 million USD in U.S. federal Investment Tax Credits. The next step for the project is obtaining a building permit.
