An injured bald eagle, presumed to be Jackie, has died after nearly a month of intensive medical care following an injury sustained in a fight with other birds. The Ojai Raptor Center, a nonprofit wildlife rescue organization, announced the death of the eagle, known
as Patient 26-519, on Monday. Jackie was part of the famous Big Bear Valley nest cam duo, alongside her partner Shadow, and had captured the attention of many through livestreams managed by Friends of Big Bear Valley. Despite receiving oxygen therapy, supportive treatment, and around-the-clock monitoring, Jackie's condition continued to deteriorate. The center emphasized that all decisions regarding her care were made with her welfare in mind. Her remains have been transferred to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
