She began her career as a third-grade teacher while her first husband served in the U.S. Navy. After raising her family, she pursued an art degree and shared her talents through her creative venture, 'Brushfires.' Susan was known for her involvement in the community, particularly during her years as a Navy wife, and her commitment to helping others.
