Indiana police agencies are intensifying patrols to combat speeding and distracted driving as part of the annual Safer Roads Campaign. This initiative, running through April 13, 2026, is a collaboration
between the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, Indiana State Police, and local law enforcement, supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Officers will work overtime to enforce Indiana's Hands-Free Law, which prohibits holding mobile devices while driving. The campaign aims to reduce traffic incidents by promoting compliance with speed limits and discouraging distracted driving.
