What's Happening?
Moose Boats has completed and delivered an M2-38 patrol vessel to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. This 38-foot catamaran is powered by twin Volvo Penta D6-480 diesel engines, providing a combined 960 horsepower, and features Hamilton Jets. The
primary objective for acquiring this new boat is to enhance efforts in cleaning up the Sacramento and American Rivers, which are frequently polluted by sunken vessels and vehicles. According to Sacramento County Sheriff Sergeant Sam Flores, the department faces a constant challenge in removing these pollutants from the rivers and delta waterways. The purchase of this specialized patrol boat was largely made possible through State grant funding.
