Windward has introduced a new Image Analytics capability that enhances the interpretation of satellite imagery for maritime intelligence. This technology includes Vessel Correlation, which identifies vessels in satellite images by matching them with AIS
data, and MAI Expert™, which provides a natural-language summary of the scene. This advancement allows for faster and more accurate identification of vessels, distinguishing between those transmitting AIS signals and those operating 'dark.' The system aims to improve operational decisions by providing actionable insights from satellite imagery, moving beyond traditional overlay methods that require manual interpretation.
