The US Army is set to test autonomous Ford F-250 pickup trucks equipped with Forterra's autonomous-driving system. These vehicles are part of an initiative to explore the use of commercial vehicles for dangerous battlefield tasks, such as route clearance
and breaching. The Army's XVIII Airborne Corps will experiment with four of these robotic trucks. Forterra's system is already integrated into the Marine Corps' Navy-Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System.
