Elaine 'Boots' Maginness, a dedicated nurse and beloved family matriarch, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025. Born in 1935, she was the youngest of five sisters and pursued a career in nursing
after graduating from Genesee Hospital School of Nursing. Elaine's career spanned 35 years, with a significant portion spent as a school nurse at Brighton High School, where she was known for her compassionate care. Her life was marked by two distinct phases: the first filled with personal challenges and the joy of raising her daughter, Beth Anne, and the second characterized by a loving partnership with Charles Maginness. Together, they enjoyed travel, golf, and community involvement. Elaine's legacy includes a large, loving family of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were her greatest joy.
