What's Happening?
Saipem has successfully completed a major offshore installation campaign for the Neptun Deep natural gas project in Romania. This milestone involves the installation of a 7,500-tonne jacket and a 9,000-tonne topside for the production platform, as well
as associated offshore works. The project, developed by OMV Petrom and Romgaz, is expected to become the European Union's largest offshore gas project. Saipem's scope of work includes subsea operations at the Domino and Pelican fields and the installation of a 160-km offshore gas pipeline and fiber-optic cable connecting the platform to the Romanian coast. The installation was carried out using Saipem's heavy-lift and pipeline vessels, marking a significant step in enhancing Romania's natural gas production capabilities.
